Cigre Paris Session 2026
Researchers from the C2 Grid Hub participated in the CIGRE Paris Session 2026, held in Paris, France, from August 23 to 28, 2026. They presented their research on future power system operation and GFM-HVDC technologies during the C2 and B4 sessions and the joint B4-C4 workshop.

About this event
The CIGRE Paris Session is a leading international event where power industry experts from around the world exchange knowledge on major technical challenges and research advances associated with the energy transition. Held at the Palais des Congrès in Paris, the 2026 event addressed key topics including the stability and flexibility of future power systems, HVDC and power electronics technologies, and grid-forming control.
Minsung Kim, Jongwon Kang, Chanho Ji, and Junchol Lee represented the C2 Grid Hub at the event. Minsung Kim presented research on power system inertia estimation and assessment during the C2 session on power system operation and control. Jongwon Kang and Chanho Ji presented research on the control and stability of GFM-HVDC and MTDC systems during the B4 session on DC systems and power electronics.
Junchol Lee delivered an oral presentation entitled “Application of GFM Control Functions in a ±525 kV 2 GW VSC-HVDC System for Korea’s West Coast Energy Highway” at the joint B4-C4 workshop, “Grid Forming Technologies and Control in Modern Power Systems.”
Through their participation, the C2 Grid Hub shared its research achievements in the stable operation of future HVDC-integrated power systems and Korea’s experience in developing large-scale GFM-HVDC technologies with international experts.
